Welcome reader to another “funny finds” blog presented by IM Home Inspections. August was another busy month for IM Home Inspections. With all the inspections we have been having, the amount of funny finds was at an all time high. We have narrowed the choices down to the top 3 funny finds for the month of August. Enjoy!
“The Tower of Wood”
Crawlspaces under homes always seem to yield funny results. People often think that just because that part of the house is hidden, all bets are off when it applies to safety. Crawlspaces may not be the most fun thing to inspect (especially if you’re not a fan of bugs), but the constant safety violations assure us that it is an integral part to our inspection process.

This is the foundation of a home being held up by not one, not two, but three pieces of wood. Safety? Nope never hear of it.
“The Plumbing Problem”
Ah yes, yet another funny find in a crawlspace. I’m telling you, the amount of material we get from crawl spaces is through the roof!

This picture shows a plumbing pipe being held up by some string to include wiring used for the home. Water and electricity do not go well together but don’t try to tell this homeowner that!
The Incomplete Door
This find was quite odd. While inspecting homes, sometimes we find discrepancies that make us scratch our heads.

In this picture we see a door that isn’t really a door. It has a doorknob but no mechanism to close or secure it. Kind of defeats the purpose right?
Thanks again for taking the time to read our funny finds for the month of August. We hope to see you again in September! Remember to use IM Home Inspections for all of your home inspection needs!
